Around the block

Yes, I can safely say that I’ve been around. Took my first steps in the cyber zone in ’99, no idea what the heck I was doing. Never heard of bugs, viruses or Trojan horses. No idea what hotmail was and how chat rooms worked. A full blown rookie all alone on the www. Fresh meat for the whisperers and the lonely hearts out there who were looking for an easy prey. Me! It didn’t take me long to figure out that everything that looked like a pig, squealed like a pig, was in fact nothing but a pig. If it hadn’t been for a whole bunch of women who met every morning in the 40s chat, I would have been eaten alive. I still owe them big time.
We moved from regular chat to the new beta which supplied us with our own page and my first website was born. I took some HTML for dummies, started to fool around with PSP, found yahoo groups with people who enjoyed making their own stationeries and a new addict was born.
Now I have two blogs, a website with my stationeries that really needs to get upgraded, my MSN (dead), a Hyves account, photobucket albums, I’m into Flickr (lost my password though), my blog log, three mail accounts and last and very much least I got sucked into My Space. The last addition is still a mystery to me and I don’t think I’m going to try to unravel it. This morning I got my first invitation to become someone’s ‘friend’. Matt, a 22 year old male from Michigan. Excuse me? My space invaded by kids. And here I was, thinking nothing could surprise me anymore.

Gee, I am impressed. I work in Information technology but haven't done half of what you mentioned. It is possible to work in IT and not know HTML and I don't even know what PSP means? I only write Boolean logic rules. I use a cheat sheet to create HTML links. I can't memorize the code. :-) I should read the dummy books.

Paint Shop Pro Ces. Once you get 'with' the programm, you can't get away ever again. On my Design site you can see what I create with PSP

Hahaha, MySpace is the kids' playground now. Like your blog and am glad you make the effort to communicate to us Dutch-loving English speakers. Thank you!

Run away from MySpace! It isn't worth the aggravation and you'll get all sorts of -- ahem!! -- interesting people asking you to be their friend.

@ Matt, so I noticed, Kind of flattering for an old broad like me, but I don't think I will accept any of the offers.
